Popular mobile manufacturer Sony Ericsson has unveiled a new device sure to excite camera lovers. The Sony Ericsson S001 offers a sleek new design containing a mighty 8.1 megapixel camera - toting autofocus, smile-shutter control and flash.
Photos can be displayed on the 3.3 inch 480x854 pixel AMOLED display, as well as mobile television enabling TV fans to watch on the go. Available in black, pink and green with gold trimming, the Sony Ericsson S001 offers users plenty of connectivity options, including Bluetooth, GSM/CDMA and a browser for high-speed internet access.
The phone comes latest in the handset range from Sony Ericsson, which has seen a quiet start to the year so far - especially when placed against rivals Motorola and Nokia - both of which have made impressive announcements introducing three new mobile phones at a time. Motorola bounced into the New Year - despite also announcing company downsizing and staff reduction - with the announcement of three new phones, one of which is made of entirely recyclable materials.
Nokia has also shaken up its offerings with news of its upcoming "iPhone-killer", the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which sold out in just hours when it was released in Russia and China. Although no release date has yet been revealed, the Sony Ericsson S001 is expected to be seen entering the market in Q1.
Prices have similarly not been announced.
