Perhaps one of the most unusual mobile phones ever created, South Korean company LG Electronics has revealed a new device that doubles up as a watch.
The popular mobile phone manufacturer proudly displayed examples of its upcoming line at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week and created a big buzz about the product. Not only does it appear that LG has successfully combined call and texting capabilities onto something as small as a watch, but design hasn't suffered at all.
What's more, the attractive fascia of the LG watch phone is comprised of a touchscreen display that's being described as intuitive as the iPhone and, not only does the innovative device come with basic mobile phone capabilities, but it can play music, access the internet and even comes with a camera installed that allows video calls to be made.
The device supports stereo Bluetooth, meaning users can listen to their music and take calls privately. However, the speakerphone also has a high volume so calls can be heard when a headset is unavailable. The watch phone also supports quad-band GSM and come loaded with 3G/HDSPA. LG has also planned ahead enough to design the watch so that any type of user will be pleased with it.
The adjustable strap is suited for both large and small wrists and the watch will come in a range of colours, including black, red, silver, pink and blue. The device is expected to appear on the European market later on this year. No pricing has yet been released.
