Sony Ericsson launches new T707 handset with a sleek new advertising campaign featuring tennis star Maria Sharapova. Described by the mobile company as a stunning addition to its line, the T707 boasts a number of new high tech features as well as aiming to embody a sleek and desirable design. It sports a number of innovative light effects, lighting up with both day and night settings and when the device receives a call. According to Which?, users will also be able to personalise both the light settings and the pulsation settings. One of the big selling points of this new handset is the Gesture Control. This allows the user to reject incoming calls, switch the phone to mute or the alarm to snooze by waving a hand over the screen via a sensor on its front face. As high spec devices like the Apple iPhone 3G and new feted touchscreen offerings from Samsung make a stab at dominating the smartphone market, it's clear that Sony Ericsson is trying to compete with unique innovations. Brand ambassador Miss Sharapova describes the phone as her ultimate new accessory. In a statement she said: "I am always on the go and I need a phone that is easy to use, and of course chic as well! I never miss a call with the eye-catching light effects and personalised pulsation settings and I love the fact that I can just wave my hand to mute a call using the gesture control." The thin flip design paired with its glossy skin ensure that the phone is aesthetically pleasing, while other specs that include a 2.2-inch screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video and geo-tagging, as well as Google maps, a media player, Exchange ActiveSync and an external 1.1-onch OLED display ensure it is functional. The T707 will be available in Q2 in mysterious black, spring rose or lucid blue. |
